I was so sad to hear about your loss.I meet Marie in 1966 at beauty school. Over the years we worked together, Marie was the most stable level headed smiling person.My condolences to John and all Marie's children,grandchildren,parents,and brothers.

What I first learned about treating addiction I learned from Marie. When I was indignant and intolerant in my early, young idealistic days, she took the time to explain and educate me on the disease of chemical dependency. She liked the nickname patients gave her: Mama Marie, and she took care of the unit accordingly. She was a dedicated nurse who made no secret her first love and priority was family especially spending time with her grandkids. Marie's passing was unexpected and a shock. My thoughts and prayers are with you, family. I miss her...how much more you must feel the loss. Take care and please let me know if there is anything I can do...

Grandma,it's weird writing on here. Like who would have ever thought. We have so many memories it is beyond unbelievable. My heart is throbbing trying to figure out what to say. I appreciate everyone's shared memories and prayers to our family. Thing's like this are definitely not easy but the memories and the smile of my grandma and knowing her pain is gone away now and she is watching over us all as our angel. If i began talking about the memories with her, this would go on forever. But reguardless I miss her, and she will be missed by all. I love you grandma, and to my aunt Sheri, Cheryl, Uncle James, and my Dad.. stay strong. Let's celebrate a life that was lived by grandma! Rest in Peace! I love you.

Dear Black Family,
I was so very sorry to see of the passing of your mother. We were friends many years ago when we were having babies and then school children together. I'm sure a couple of you remember Chris, Ammie and Heidi Grove. She was a sweet lady and has passed much too soon. I'll remember her in my prayers. Sincerely, Peggy Harp

I am so sorry to hear about Marie. I did not know her very well but I do know how very important her family was to her. She loved each and every one of her family members and was very proud of them. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Karyle Perkins

I have lots of memories of Marie. The first ones were of her cutting and perming my hair in her home in Central Park. Sometimes in the basement area where she set up her "little shop" and sometimes at the kitchen table. I always wondered what her family thought when their home seemed to have the aroma of "perms". As I write this I remember actually starting when she lived on the Wynooche, moved to Central Park, & then on to Ocean Shores. Finally, I knew Marie as a fellow NURSE. I remember discussing and encouraging her in her endeavor to obtain her degree. I am very proud to have known her. She was very special. My thoughts to her family.
